Tim Cook summed it up in a LA Time article in which he said “that Apple’s fiscal 2014 was “one for the record books.” With profits reported of 8.5 billion this is certainly text book fodder for a company that only fifteen years ago came back from the brink.
Based on iPhone Sales
By a large part these staggering numbers are based on iPhone sales. It shows the importance of mobility to the user. The Mac was no slouch either where it came to these numbers.
However, other categories such as the tablet had more difficulties. The numbers being reported are still staggering by any measure but expectations have become a little absurd lately. Regardless, the iPad Air 2 has just been released and should do well.
Bottom line; Apple is doing well.
